Who is your website really talking to?

Give us two pages from your website. We'll work out who the copy is actually written for, then score how clearly, relevantly and completely it speaks to them.

Scored out of 25. Takes under a minute. One free audit per email address.

What we check

The reader your copy implies. Five scores.

Every page of copy is written for someone, whether you meant it or not. We read the words, the problems named and the proof offered, and tell you who that someone looks like.

1

Audience clarity

Could a stranger say exactly who this is for?

2

Pain-point relevance

Does it name your reader's real problems in their words?

3

Buying-stage coverage

Does it serve people who are exploring, comparing and ready to decide?

4

Proof and objections

Does it give the evidence they need and answer their doubts?

5

Fit with who you want

Does the reader it attracts match the buyer you are after?

A gap we found

Nothing on the services page answers "What will this cost, and how long will it take?", the first doubt most buyers at this stage have.

Plus a prioritised action plan, saved to your free account and ready to date and assign in the Marketing Planner.

How it works

Three steps, under a minute

Step 1

Choose two pages

Pick two pages with real copy on them, such as your homepage and a Services page. Tell us who you want to reach if you like.

Step 2

We read and analyse them

We work out who the copy is written for, then score how well it speaks to them and compare that with who you want.

Step 3

Your report arrives

By email, and saved in your account if you sign up with the same address. Every recommendation becomes a task in your Marketing Planner.

Human-curated by design

The audit tells you who your copy attracts today. Deciding who you should be talking to is a human decision about your business, and that's what the next tools in the suite are built to help you capture.

FAQ

Questions about the audit

What is an "implied persona"? +

It's the reader your copy appears to be written for, judged only from the words on the page: their likely role, industry, company size, buying stage and how much they already know. If the copy doesn't reveal something, the report says so rather than guessing.

Is it really free? +

Yes. You get one free Persona Audit per email address, covering two pages. Pro members can run more audits across more pages.

Do I have to say who I want to reach? +

No. If you leave it blank we score how specifically the copy targets one type of buyer. If you do tell us, we also compare the reader your copy attracts with the one you want and show you the gaps.

What happens to my pages and my details? +

We read the public text on the two pages you give us to produce your report, and store the report so you can see it in your account. Your details are never shared. See our Privacy Policy for the detail.

Pair it with the Tone of Voice Audit

The Persona Audit looks at who you are talking to. The Tone of Voice Audit looks at how you sound. Together they feed one Marketing Planner.
